If you want to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another, you’ll need a unique transfer authorization code, which may be referred to by different names – an EPP authentication code, an AuthInfo code, a domain name password, and so on. All these names refer to the exact same thing – a code that the domain owner obtains from the present domain name registrar and gives to the new one during the order process. Without a valid code, a transfer cannot be started and this is one of the protection mechanisms against unsanctioned transfers used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For greater security, the code comprises of numbers and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so in case you’d like to transfer one of your domains, you have to supply the new domain name registrar with the right code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting
In case you have a website hosting, you’ve registered a domain through our company and you want to transfer it away from us, you can get its EPP authentication code with less than a few mouse clicks. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you have registered through us listed alphabetically. To the right of each domain name, you will notice a mini EPP icon for all domain extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking the icon will email the EPP code to the domain registrant’s email address instantaneously. In the same section you can also see and eventually edit the email address, if the one there isn’t valid anymore.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you would like to transfer any domain name that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another domain registrar, you can get its EPP transfer authorization code with a few clicks of the mouse from your Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domain names will be listed in an independent Control Panel section. Quick-access controls will permit you to use different functions. To obtain the transfer code, you only need to click on the EPP icon, which will be on the right-hand side of any domain whose extension supports transfers with an authorization code. Our system will email the code to the registrant’s email, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If you wish, you can modify this email address from the same Control Panel section before requesting the transfer authorization code. The change will take effect right away, so you don’t have to wait for the new email to be listed on WHOIS websites.
