A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the very same domain name. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a website hosting with us. You can activate the feature through our advanced, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer your hosting account. You will see all the email addresses that you’ve set up displayed alphabetically and on the right side of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly reveal to you if a certain mailbox receives all the emails associated with a certain domain or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature at any time. If there’s enabled email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will get a warning from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to set up a catch-all email address with no more than one click if you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with us and your emails are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the email addresses that you create using any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a tiny "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to activate this option will be to click on that icon. In the same way you will be able to deactivate the feature, in case you don’t need it anymore. Our system will notify you if you are trying to enable a second catch-all address for a certain domain name or if there’s active email forwarding, but it will never disable or change anything automatically and without your approval.
